Due to the lack of funds collected ($50 per team) we will NOT have the pizza party at the end. The Trophy is currently held by the Dragons.

I suggest that we try to get ref's for these games. I imagine these games could get pretty competitive.

Lets make sure we remind our team that this is a FREE League and it's not worth getting in fights or doing anything we regret.

Playoff Format

This season each team will play each team once through the league. The team with best record will be the 1st seed team and so on. The 1st seeded team will play the 8th seeded team, 2nd seeded team the 7th seeded team and so on. The higher seed team will always have the home game (regardless of an upset during the playoffs.)

If there is a tie in record for seeding, the seeding will be determined on the head to head between the two teams with the tie record. If there is a three way tie then we will decide via goal differential between the head to head games of the three teams.

The final game will be played at the Redwood Road field and we will have a brief closing ceremony.

Congratulations to every player on each team. This was yet another successful season. We hope everyone was able to enjoy this season. Please remember that we will begin next season in the beginning of August, but will be a shorter season and will end in October. Enjoy your summer and remember to check back on this blog for the season schedule.

Weather Protocol

Weather
If there are severe weather conditions, the two captains will decide at anytime prior to the scheduled game time, if this game will be played on that date and time. This game could be rescheduled with the following options:

Another date (which could be a double header on another Saturday or on a bye game date)
A later time on that same date, if the weather seems like it'll get better in the afternoon or a few hours later (or earlier)
A weeknight (If it works) (probably unlikely)
A mutual agreement as a "tie" as a result
Maybe play a shorter game?

Ultimately up to the two teams on what they decide.

League Rules and Bylaws

Soccer League

- We need a release from each team representative for each player that will be playing so we are not liable for any injuries and it is the sole responsibility of each athlete.

- Each team will donate funds as necessary.

We will play each team in the league twice; one home game and one away game Or teams can play all away games if they do not have a home field. This will constitute a season

Each team must have matching color shirts. Numbers are optional.

The home team will supply the referee. The visiting team maybe asked to supply a referee or can volunteer to provide a referee if needed. A Referee can be a player from either team, but must be identified prior to the game beginning. If there is an issue with officiating, team representatives will meet and resolve issues. If there is not a resolve, both teams will forfeit the game and the visiting team will be asked to leave the premises immediately.

Any physical fights are subject to assault and may cause legal implication to the participant(s). Any physical fighting will cause the player(s) to be suspended from the remainder of the season and the team to forfeit the match.

We encourage all players to associate with the opponents and be held accountable for their actions. There maybe family members in attendance. Please think about what they are going to see, hear or feel when these people are watching your actions. If there are issues approach your team representative and have them consult with the opponent’s team representative as well. There is an answer and means to resolving issues respectfully and not immaturely. This is an optional league and athletes may choose to participate or not; Player(s) can be asked to not be involved, pending on unanimous votes from all team representatives.

Game: Game Time is 9 am. Please come early enough for warm ups. 45 min halves. Substitution are done when ball is not in play or for injury. No injury time unless both teams agree. There is no overtime except playoff games.

Dimensions

The field of play must be rectangular. The length of the touch line must be greater than the length of the goal line.

Length: minimum 90 m (100 yds) maximum 120 m (130 yds)

Width: minimum 45 m (50 yds) maximum 90 m (100 yds)
